Sun Peaks Municipality is British Columbia’s largest ski resort and newest municipality. The mayor and four councillors were sworn in on June 28, 2010. The country’s first mountain resort municipality was created under special provincial legislation. Located 55 kilometers away from Kamloops, the resort has a permanent population of 400 and a further 900 property owners who are non-resident.
